Todays shoot on campus...

We have a BEAUTIFUL campus here in the fall...

Parents weekend

These past couple of days were parents weekend at the school.  The parents come and have parent teacher conferences with the teachers.  There are a lot of athletics on campus and there is opportunity to raise money or in my case have a table promoting my photography.  I have done this in the past and it is always successful.  The past two years have been difficult for me to have the table because of personal reasons, but this year I was all set and more than ready to have a nice display.  It really pays off because parents can talk to me face to face and it reminds them about me.  It was very successful and I am happy I had the time to do it this year.

I was off to a photo shoot later on...one of 5 in four days.  Here are some shots from last night.

photos, photos, and more photos...

I made it through my week of photographing very well!  I really love my job, so it makes it fun to work.  I have another busy week ahead of me...6 shoots and a table for parents weekend showcasing my work...I love being so busy right now.  The mad dash to the holidays has begun.

Some photos to enjoy...

Tabor Boy

I have 7 photo shoots this week.  Yesterday I took photos of a senior here at school.  Our school has its own schooner called the Tabor Boy.  I  have been aboard and have gone for sails and it is an amazing sail. While I was out taking photos of this girl, the Tabor Boy passed by.  A-M-A-Z-I-N-G since the girls mom had requested to have her photos taken by the water.  We are known as "The School by the Sea".

I am off to Hingham today for another shoot...4 shoots left this week!

My Christmas Card...

Each year I struggle to get the best shot of my daughter for our Christmas card.  It usually goes something like this:  me yelling at Ava to smile, Jose standing behind me talking to Ava in a very soft voice usually saying "heyyy...heyyyy..." and then me yelling at Jose.  You would think because of what I do that the shoot would be fun, joyful, filled with holiday cheer and anticipation...it is not even close.

This year, we have Manny to add to our card.  I didn't realize how excited I was to have the two of them sit together for me.  I haven't done a formal shoot of the two of them together since he was born.  He is now 8 months old and has such a great little personality.  He loves animals...loves his sister and is very easy to make smile.  All you have to do is call his name and he smiles.

I worried I wouldn't have the right clothes, that Ava would be difficult, that Manny would cry...and then we got to the location.  Ava was a little slow to start I will admit, but Manny just sat there smiling and looking at everything on the ground around him.  Jose actually used a louder voice and did silly things to make the kids smile for me at the same time.

Funny, my favorite images have nothing to do with them smiling.  This year I am not interested in sending out the "perfect" Christmas card because I have two kids that are perfect enough for any card.

into the woods

So...because I live near the beach, the obvious choice for people to have photos taken are at the beach.  I am not complaining, I am one of those people.  I am just saying that it makes me crave the woods and some coats and hats...like these...I wanted to make the photos have a bit more texture as well.  I had a really fun shoot with some great kids tonight.  They brought along their dog and she was adorable.  They all have an old fashioned kind of look to them...even the dog.

engagement shoot

I stopped shooting weddings a couple of years ago.  I wanted to focus more on my portrait photography.  One of my lifelong close friends just got engaged.  I was so excited for them I couldnt help but give them an engagement session...I love these.  I love how much in love they look and are.

Congratulations!!

photo shoot of baby

I had such a nice day yesterday.  I got up early, drove into Boston (on a Sunday the drive is pleasant especially without anyone else in the car with me) and took photos of the cutest little baby.  This baby is only 6lbs...both my babies were 8lbs and on a baby that makes a huge difference.  Holding him made me want another baby.  Of course it is totally different when it is not  your own child and you have had a nice hour drive in quiet...holding a brand new baby makes your day.

I am not posting who it is for privacy purposes.  Enjoy!

so what else is new?

I have been busy and have not had time to write on my blog.  :-(

I know, I know...it is the same story for me.  October and November seem to be my busiest months for my work.  Now that I have two kids and less time to work, it has been a little tough getting my bearings, but things are starting to calm down with my schedule...or so I think.   I have four photo shoots this week, ballet, swim, piano, school, dorm, life...yikes!

It is all fun and all worth it.  I love my family and my life.

Photos to be posted soon...I promise!!
